In this course, students have the opportunity to do an in-depth study of the families of functions, including polynomials, logarithms, and rational functions. Emphasis is placed on the use of the functions to solve problems in real world contexts. Key features of the families of functions are analyzed, including end behavior, domain, range, asymptotes, symmetry, continuity and extrema. Trigonometry, vectors, matrices, and conic sections are also included. Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry are pre-requisites to this course. Sample past projects: guitar project and tax project.
