Mr Dwain Reynolds
I joined Kent Innovation High in the 2017/2018 school year. I teach the World History portion of the 9th grade Global Studies course. I believe that, when taught well, our young people make great changes to the world. That is why I am excited to use project-based learning in order to guide students’ understanding of the past, how it influences our future and how they can make the world better.
I grew up in Middleville, MI, where I attended Thornapple Kellogg High School. When I was a freshman in high school, I knew I was going to be a choir teacher. However, during my sophomore year, I had an amazing U.S. History teacher who changed my mind and inspired me to pursue History. - insert teaching philosophy
I received two Associate’s degrees, in General Studies and Fine Arts, from Kellogg Community College in Hastings, MI, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI.
Before Kent Innovation High, I worked for two years at the Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts and Technology where I taught U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, African American History, and Personal Finance. When I am not at school, I am usually spending time with my girlfriend killin it at trivia.
