Geometry
In this course, students study the Common Core State Standards using a hands-on, collaborative, project-based approach. Students work together to build scale models to visualize the concepts that they are studying, such as congruent triangles, planes, 3D solids and transformations. Students act as “sleuths” or problem solvers while they write formal proofs on concepts, such as angle relationships, congruence and similarity. Students use technology, such as Geogebra software, to study concepts, such as angle and arc measurement. This course gives students the opportunity to see how Geometry is used to solve both complex and everyday real world problems.
